For our honeymoon, Mark and I took a whirlwind trip through three European cities in 12 days. In less than two weeks’ time, we packed in countless monuments, museums, historical landmarks, flea markets, foodie havens, and romantic panoramas, all spread across three countries. Our second stop, Paris, was perhaps the most jam-packed of all. We had a mere 96 hours to explore the City of Love for the first time—four days to stroll along the Champs Elysees, view the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, marvel at the architecture of Notre Dame, bike through the city streets, admire the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower, and of course, eat plenty of macarons and fromage. But on our last afternoon in Paris, it occurred to me that we hadn’t done much shopping in the fashion capitol. With less than two hours before our dinner reservations on the other side of the Seine, I insisted we make a mad dash to Printemps, one of Paris’s most famous (and most fabulous) department stores.

I could have easily spent five hours in the place, but I managed to make off with a couple sweet sartorial finds despite my time constraints. My favorite purchase was a yellow wool sweater with a white Peter Pan collar from Canadian-born Parisian designer Tara Jarmon. It’s bright and cozy, and feels straight out of a Wes Anderson film or a 1960s high school yearbook (which is probably why I love it so much). It looks just as great with jeans in my opinion, but I paired it here with a faux leather pleated skirt and polka dot tights.

Love this look! Reminds me of Paris every time I see black on black. The parisians really do know the definition of chic 🙂
